Google & Yahoo

There are reports circulating around the Internet that Google is consider buying Yahoo or is helping private company to acquire the core parts of Yahoo.  This strikes at me as odd.  Acquiring Yahoo would run into anti-trust issues and would give Google a virtual monopoly in the search engine business.

To me Google is better off with Yahoo as a competitor.  A competitor that is much weaker and gives consumer a basis to compare Google to.  Yahoo clearly does not have the traffic and resources to compete with Google.  We will have to wait and keep an eye on all of this to see how things progress.

Playboy App

In this months issue of Playboy, the publishing company said that it will making its materials available on the Apple tablet in March and uncensored. Apple has always had a rule that prohibits pornography and full frontal nudity on its plaftorm requring all apps to go through approval. It will be interesting to see how Hef pulls this one off or if the two companies are working together to bring the bunnies to Apple land.

3D Portable Game Coming

Nintendo is set to launch a new 3DS hand held gaming console sometime in March of 2011. The console offers true 3d without the need of wearing 3d glasses. The visual effects is not too bad but isn’t as great as Avatar but is is good enough given you won’t have to wear those stupid glasses. The new DS will have a combination of both 3d games and movies to watch when it launches. At this time the price has not been announced but it should be a nice addition to the DS family.

iPhone finally coming

Is the iPhone finally coming to one of the largest wireless network, Verizon? Word on the street is that in the next few days, Verizon will announce to the word that sometime later this year, Verizon user will be able to get their own iPhone. Customer and industry experts have been working for this announcement for some time. Let see if this actually happens so that I can switch my Blackberry for an Iphone.

Halo Reach Issues

If you were among the group of people who purchased the Xbox 360 bundle with Kinetic with the 4g hard drive and you want to play Halo Reach you might have some problems. First the 4g hard drive is too small. So some people have purchased 4g to 15g flash cards and plugged it into their xbox to play Halo. However, you can’t play cooperation campaign and firefighter with the flash drives because Xbox Live will not recognize them.

Until Microsoft fixes this problem or you upgrade and purchase a 100g hard drive for about $100 to 150 dollars, you will have to sit tight and wait for Microsoft to fix this problem.
